We're off now...into the Pit! LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNN... What a time we've been having! We've had the Euro bootleg series, both legs of the North American bootleg series, Pearl Jam's DVD is coming and a rarities album is being planned for the end of the year! We're groovin' on this step back in time to relive all the sweet memories of the 2000 tour and beyond. There's much happening so let's see what to expect and when. IT'S JUST A JUMP TO THE LEFT... While there are no tour plans and no new studio album planned for this year, there certainly is a lot going on. The first leg of the NorthAm boot series is available in stores now. The second leg of the NorthAm boot series is available now for advance ordering through the Ten Club at pearljam.com. There's a special price if you're a fan club member and if you haven't yet joined, you can do that when you order. The NorthAm second leg will be available in stores on March 27. AND THEN A STEP TO THE RIGHT... Pearl Jam's upcoming DVD, titled "Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000," is due out in the states on April 10. News on release dates for other countries will be coming soon. U.S. fan club members will be able to order the DVD in advance on April 3rd from the Ten Club for only $15.98. Additional details on the ordering process will be posted on pearljam.com, so be sure check there. Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000 will also be available in the VHS format but it will not include the 50 minutes of bonus features that are on the DVD. Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000 was filmed by crew members Liz Burns, Steve Gordon and Kevin Shuss and features twenty-eight full length songs from various cities on the 2000 U.S. tour. It'll be in widescreen format with the following set list: Long Road, Corduroy, Grievance, Animal, Gods' Dice, Evacuation, Given To Fly, Dissident, Nothing As It Seems, Even Flow, Lukin, Not For You, Daughter (into "It's OK" by Dead Moon), Untitled, MFC, Thin Air, Leatherman, Better Man, Nothingman, Insignificance, I Got Id, Rearviewmirror, Wishlist, Jeremy, Do the Evolution, Go, Parting Ways, and Rockin' In The Free World. The end credits are run to Leaving Here. There are some special bonus features available only on the DVD like the "Matt Cam" (allows you to switch camera angles to Matt's point of view during Evacuation, Even Flow and In My Tree), outtakes of the band set to "Smile," backstage scenes, a montage from the 2000 Euro leg of the tour with "Yellow Ledbetter" live, two videos - Do the Evolution and Oceans, and previously unreleased instrumentals recorded by Pearl Jam during early Binaural sessions. The instrumentals are titled, "Thunderclap," "Foldback," and "Harmony." We'll be getting a taste of what the DVD is like as soon as this weekend when MTV2, VH1, PBS and possible other stations will be previewing footage. Additional details will be posted in the PJ Events section on Synergy as it becomes available but be sure to check your stations and local listings for dates and time as they may vary. WITH YOUR HANDS ON YOUR HIPS... For the past six years, we've received thousands and thousands of e-mails asking, "Will Pearl Jam ever put out a rarities/b-side album?" The answer was always no. Now, the answer is finally yes! It's still in the early stages and nothing is definite yet about what will be on it but they hope to have it out by Christmas. There's a lot of music they can choose from so we know they'll make it interesting and special. YOU BRING YOUR KNEES IN TIGHT... Surfing, snowboarding, hanging with friends - the guys know how to take a vacation - but they're just never away from music for long. Music just makes life better so their plans and activities include... BUT IT'S THE PELVIC THRUST... If you'll be in Auckland, New Zealand in early April, you can catch Eddie playing with Neil Finn (Crowded House) at the St. James Theatre on April 2-6. Neil has invited artists he admires to collaborate with him at these special shows. They include: Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder (vocals), Radiohead's Ed O'Brien (guitar, vocals) and Phil Selway (drums), Soul Coughing's Sebastian Steinberg (bass), singer/songwriter Lisa Germano (vocals, piano, violin), The Smiths' Johnny Marr (guitar), and Neil's big brother, Tim Finn (vocals). See www.nilfun.net for more. THAT REALLY DRIVES YOU INSANE... Organically speaking, Stone and Pete Droge have been collaborating in the studio on a new project they're calling Bay Leaf. They're being secretive so far on what they've been working on. Jeff's been creating too...and keeping it close to the vest also. Creative people are like that, you know? :) LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNN... Mike's been doing some work with Ozzy and Nancy Wilson. No, not together. Mike and Nancy (Heart) are working on the sound track to the upcoming Cameron Crowe film titled, "Vanilla Sky." Mike's also been hanging with Ozzy Osbourne writing songs. There's no word yet on when music from that collaboration might be released. The new news on The Rockfords is that second album they talked about at the beginning of the year is on hold for now while they're all doing other things. Matt Cameron's other rockin' band, Wellwater Conspiracy, is releasing their next album, "The Scroll & Its Combinations" through TVT Records. Look for it at the end of May. RUMORS, RUMOURS, RUMORS...
